newRecord is typically spammed in Twitch chat when a streamer successfully breaks a personal or global record in their game of choice. It’s a way for the audience to recognize and celebrate the accomplishment in real-time.

NewRecord was introduced on December 19, 2022. It features a purple boxing glove engulfed in flames, symbolizing a record‑smashing moment. Designed to commemorate Spanish streamer Ibai breaking Twitch’s concurrent viewer record with his "La Velada del Año II" boxing event which peaked at over 3.3 million viewers on June 25, 2022. This emote replaced the previous NewRecord design celebrating TheGrefg’s 2.4 million concurrent viewers.
